thanks for all the comments guys. yeah i was a bit disappointed with only 168 HP, but the fan that they put in front of ur car on the dyno shit itself, and the guys there said that would cause it to be so low, due to lack of air intake. and it is only stock except for and exhaust at the moment.

Well it went into the paint shop just over 2 weeks ago, and i got it back last fri. Had the whole car resprayed in a custom colour based on the original bermuda blue, had spoiler removed, guards rolled, VT garnish painted and put on instead of VX garnish, fog light bezels installed, chrome grilles installed. Inside, i had the dash surround painted same colour as car, with silver highlights, chrome buttons on gear stick and hand brake. Colour has just had more purple mixed in to give it a more purple appearance, and i think it looks great. cant really see it well in pics, but its noticable in person. just need to get the foglights now, and lower it some more. so what does everyone think? will post interior pics when i get a good one.

yeah im extremely happy with it. has to go back in a few weeks for a good buff yet. this new clear they are using needs to cure for bout 4 weeks then they buff it and it comes up nice and shiny.

that is one neat looking vt very nice work :D
du some dodgy repair work done on the car before i purchased it, they had to take whole drivers side back to bare metal, repair a few dents and straighten a few panels. all up cost me just over 6000. But the quality of the job is unreal, even in its unbuffed state. Hopin to lower it more soon, now that the guards have been rolled. thanks for the comments guys.

havent taken the car out since sunday, but im takin it out 2moro, so ill get some interior shots. nothin flash, just had the dash surround painted and a few chrome bits added. would love to get the seats trimmed, but thats gonna be a bit later on.
dasha15 - i replied earlier up answering this, but it cost me just over 6000 for everything (rolled guards, drivers side back to bare metal due to some dodgy work done in the past, full respray in new colour, interior bits painted, and addition of chrome bits)

the only thing, i dont know about the rear lights...like i'm not against them, but I think the silver is perhaps too bright for the cars colour...but they do look good, maybe im just too picky!! :D

Well finally have had the rear lowered so now the tyre sits level with the top of the guard. looks sooo much better. Also scored a new monaro bonnet, which is in the paint shop as we speak gettin painted. should be on the car wednesday. looking forward to it. will post some pics up once its on.

you can notice the purple heaps mate i got a car bermuda blue how much purple u mix in with it
im not sure on the exact colours and amounts, and if i was i would be keeping it to myself. lol. i have had to put my old VX garnish back on for a short while, and its still in bermuda blue. since putting it on, it actually shows how different the colour is now compared to the bermuda blue.

I'm not a big fan of the new Monaro bonnet in general, but I think the way you have done it by painting the bonnet vents same colour as the car makes them more subtle ;) When they are black against a lighter coloured car I reckon they are too bold.
The way you've done it looks great. Thumbs up on that one. A very individual car now :D

i highly recomend u get the monaro headlights, would set it off nicely due to also having the monaro bonnet. IMO it doesnt look right with the VT headlights and the bonnet etc, but thats me :). Lookin good and im sure it goes good too ;)
hey BECS (i never know when its greg or bec posting so its easier this way, lol), was gonna email you some pics but cant find your email address. yeah the vents are open, so the airflows straight into the engine bay. now if only i could direct that air to the airbox. hmmmmmmm. hows the tuning going?
phatwagon - something to look into later on. goes ok for now, but could go alot better. i have put the intercooler off for too long now, so that and the gearbox are my priorities for next year. spent enough on it this year and the minister for finance has said no more. lol

looks very nice mate, you dont see many of the bonnets with the twin vt grilles, i like it :) i'd have to say go the monaro headlights, but then you'd prob want to change the rears to match so... :D
oh and did your bonnet come with the open vents? because mine did too and i thought mine was straight from holden, but i've read somewhere that they were closed from the factory. :confused:
they come with rubber plugs that go in the vents to close them off. ive got the plugs, but they arent in the bonnet. left the vents open. probably dont do much, but the little bit of air comin in might help with engine temps. who knows.
gearbox is on its way out. had it serviced not long ago and they said theres a fair bit of clutch in the pan. plus you can just feel when driving, it drags out sometimes when changing.

ummm all up including cost, posting, painting and fitting, it cost me about $1400. got looked after on the cost of painting, cause they painted my whole car earlier in the year, so they did the new bonnet a bit cheaper for me.

just a little suggestion that might make the front on look even spiffier !
cut the calais grills up and put some mesh in them to try to match the mesh in the bonnet. other than that. nice looking.,

All you need to do is dump it and loose the rear rice and get the black monaro ones and it will set it off ;)
each to their own. i quite like the clear lights as they fit in with the rest of the chrome on the car. as for dumping it, its low enough as it is. looks good, and i dont get any hassles from the road, carparks, or the police. thanks anyway.

Well it goes in tomorrow to have the auto rebuilt, strengthened and shift kitted, so hopefully it will get the power to the wheels a little better. Oh, and i just put in my order finally for FITs 3" exhaust, and FMIC kit. Also getting some pacemakers and cooler thermo. Exhaust and extractors will be on soon, FMIC will go on once the MAPless tuning is all sorted and good to go. Im pretty excited bout all this. Cant wait.

[Of topic: Caught up with him yesterday arvo - the car's in for it's final updated tune after the auto conversion. Dropped a bit of power (as is to be expected) but hoping to get it back with the updated tune - previous dyno run was run with auto but manual tune so bit out!!!]

Looks good, however some suggestions, monaro lights on the front would look killer, and i agree with the other person's comment about putting either the black or red monaro rear lights but that's just a suggetsion you can do what you like. But the monaro GTO kit would look killer on that car, seen it done on bermuda blue and blew me away.

Shift kit goes good, feels much better to drive, both taking it easy, and getting up it. Was done by precise autos, at beenleigh. Cost was $2500, but it was fully rebuilt, strengthened, and shift kitted.

well, the brock shop open this monday from their xmas holidays, so ill be talking to joe then, and hopefully he will be able to get me in for the tune the monday after the cooler goes on. I want to get the tune done as soon as possible after the cooler is on, as the car is my daily driver, and i need to have it reliable. as far as i know, the MAFless tune hasnt made it over here yet, so ill be just going with the standard tune for now. Depending on how the trials go with the MAFless, ill change to that once its up and running.
VTL67: no wonder i havent seen u around..

[Of topic: Caught up with him yesterday arvo - the car's in for it's final updated tune after the auto conversion. Dropped a bit of power (as is to be expected) but hoping to get it back with the updated tune - previous dyno run was run with auto but manual tune so bit out!!!]

Well, seeing as i have never had the car dynoed since the boost and rockers mods, i decided that it might be a good idea to dyno it before fitting the cooler, just to compare. Best run I got was 201.8HP (150 odd KW). Im not sure what i was expecting really, but that sounds ok. What does everyone else think, for the mods I have, is this good power?

Thats not bad 200hp.
I get just over that with my 4.3L stroker in my vr calais. Hopefully with forced induction i can clear 300hp and maybe 350hp with the giggle gas.

Hey Ant, make sure you keep an eye on Greg (BECS) while doing your car. He put my blower on backwards and it was sucking not blowing. I think he thought it was a turbo or something.
I'll stop in at some stage of the weekend to play foreman and ensure it gets done right.

Well, its finally on. After all this time waiting, Greg and myself got stuck into it last night and today and got the cooler plus a few other things done. Test drives show that $$$$ this thing is quick!! Hasnt had a tune yet, but goes in monday. As for stalling issues etc, havent had a problem. Car runs like a dream. Got a small issue that we still need to sort, but we will look at it tomorrow. Hopefully nothing too big. Pics will come soon. Very impressed with it all though. HUGE thanks to Greg and Bec, for all the help.

Got it back from getting tuned today. Runs a little better than it did previously. Only pulled 245hp on the dyno, which isnt bad i suppose, but not quite as high as i expected, but what can you do. Still havent had a chance to get pics yet. I have a quick video that was taken on a phone as i went past, but dont know how to post it.

Couple of new pics, courtesy of numerous random forum photographers, as well as dyno sheet. The first line is 'as received' 2nd is after tune. As you can see, not alot of difference between the 2. Car was pretty much running perfect after the install of the cooler. Just had a few little loose ends to tie up with the tune, aswell as pick up some more power.

well i finally finished polishing every inch of the beast, and heres some pics showing the results. pretty happy with how it came up. I like the reflection of the clouds in the back shot :). Also, put a new head unit in last week. Got the Alpine IVA-D310E. Pretty happy with it so far, does everything you could want, and then some. its great.

The grills i have are calais ones. there is a difference between the calais and berlina one. calais have the chrome vertical slats (?) where as berlina only has the chrome outter edge. i found this out whilst looking for mine.

thanks all. colour starter as bermuda blue, but its been resprayed in a custom mix, using bermuda blue as a base colour. dont have a name for it, as we kinda made it up.

there is a pic on page 3, but at this stage the interior is nothing flash. stock S seats and trim. only the dash panel is colour coded, and the addition of chrome handles and gear selector/hand brake buttons. hope to have it retrimmed one day.

Entered my first show on the weekend, Hyperzone, held at Parklands show grounds on the gold coast. was a good day. only entered in the show and shine, as well as a run in the power launch comp. wouldve done alright if Greg (BECS) could've got traction.

Thanks for the comments all. Chrome piping in engine bay needs to be fixed up a bit as it isnt exactly the best condition. Chrome exhaust tips are good, just gotta find one that i like, but the black 3inch pipe sticking out the back looks good too.

BECS - not sure hey, i thought there was a pic of it smokin, but cant find it.
MADAZZ - Pic of the silver statesman for ya. as for stereo pics, at the moment theres not alot happening in that department. ive upgraded speakers, got the screen, and a 12" sub and a amp. thats it. nothin really worth taking pics of yet.
Well recently added a couple of other little bits to the car. Installed a VY roof mounted sunglasses console. looks good, and makes a great place to put the sunnies. relatively easy to do.
Also swapped the FIT 1.91 rockers for their new 1.97s. They have given an awesome improvement in the higher rev range. definately a worthwhile mod.

Thats an awsome car mate ive got a vt burmuda blue with s pac kit and it looks more purple than that in the sun. But yours looks 10 times better with out the spoiler on the back. Keep up the good work

Hey ant, i was looking at your car on my computer the other night, have you tried the 427 tail lights? i think they would look tons better... but I came up with that decision after about 3hours straight of trying to write some bass lines for the band.... was slightly delirious.

Ive actually thought about going back to the standard VT rear end, i think that would be more custom now days. lol. I kinda like the chrome. guess i would have to see it first though. might try swapping them over with a mate actually, just to see how it looks (Looks at BECS).
